Since its establishment in 1970, the Arts Council has provided unique opportunities for artists to share their talents with the public. The Bower-Suhrheinrich Foundation Gallery hosts numerous art exhibits for visual artists, as well as hosting performers ranging from dance to poetry readings to theater performances. The Arts Council hosts the Mayor’s Arts Awards every year to honor individuals and organizations that have had a large impact on the arts community. The council also coordinates networking meetings for visual artists, holds an array of events, hosts private parties and meetings, and produces a cultural calendar of area arts-related events.

If you have any questions about arts resources in Evansville and the surrounding areas, please call the Arts Council at (812) 422-2111 or [email protected]
