CLAY EVV Entry Details

Prospectus:

Clay EVV asks the clay artist to put big ideas into a small format. All work should be 75% clay, sculptural in nature, and no larger than 15” in any direction. Work may be pedestal, wall, or floor mounted.

Eligibiliy:

  1. CLAY EVV is open to all artists over the age of 18 working in the United States.
  2. Submissions must use 75% clay as the primary medium.
  3. Submissions should be created in the last 3 years.
  4. Clay sculpture should not be too fragile for shipping and/or installation, and should remain on display for the duration of the exhibit (June 8-July 6, 2012).

Entries:

  1. Postmark deadline for CD entries, signed entry form and entry fee is Friday, March 30th.
  2.  The non-refundable entry fee is $30 for up to three entries. Checks payable to The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana. . . CLAY EVV in the memo.
  3.  Artists may submit up to three views of each entry (a, b, c).
  4. EMAIL entries WILL NOT be accepted.
  5. Artists whose works are accepted will receive shipping instructions with acceptance letter.
  6. Images submitted for entry may be used for publication and/or promotion of the exhibit.
  7. Accepted work which differs significantly from the image provided will be rejected.
  8. The image of the work will guide the curator on how to display the work. Any additional instructions for installation should accompany the work when delivered.
  9. Digital images must be clearly labeled with last four digits of your social security number, the title and entry number and “view letter” (For example, 9234Figure1, 9234Movement2a, 9234Movement2b). Your name should NOT appear anywhere on the image or the image file name. All images should be submitted in JPEG format on a digital CD. Save all images at 300 DPI at no larger than 6” on the longest side.

Sales:

All sales will be handled by the Arts Council of SW Indiana. 35% of the selling price will be retained by the Arts Council for its services. All prices quoted must be in US Dollars.

Photography:

University of Southern Indiana, the Arts Council of SW Indiana and the City of Evansville reserve the right to photograph any images of the work or the exhibit for publication.

Liability:

Every reasonable precaution will be taken during receiving, installation, exhibition and return of work. However, the University of Southern Indiana, the Arts Council of SW Indiana, the City of Evansville, the Evansville Brownfields Corporation, their employees and volunteers will assume no responsibility for loss or damage incurred. Artists should carry their own insurance on their work submitted.
